SEVIER COUNTY USES THE CODE RED ALERT SYSTEM AS A TOOL TO NOTIFY ITS RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES OF URGENT SITUATIONS. THE SYSTEM ENABLES THE CITY TO SEND HIGH-SPEED ALERTS VIA TELEPHONE. THESE CALLS MAY BE SENT TO ALL OR TO PORTIONS OF THE COUNTY DEPENDENT ON THE GEOGRAPHIC IMPACT OF AN EVENT. FOR EXAMPLE, A MISSING PERSON ALERT MIGHT BE BROADCAST COUNTY WIDE, WHILE A WATER BOIL ALERT WOULD GENERALLY BE SENT TO A TARGETED AFFECTED AREA. INFORMATION IS DELIVERED USING RECORDED MESSAGES THAT DETAIL THE SITUATION AND WHICH MAY PROVIDE FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS TO THE RECIPIENTS.
